Films : miracle (to be released on 3rd April, 2026)
This sound is an absolute miracle.
‘Miracle’ is the lead single from Films’ 5th album 'maze sleeper' which will be released on April 23, 2026. Films is a dark fantasy music project, featuring cinematic sounds with two female vocalists who sing in their own originally created languages.
As with their previous album 'at the deep end', the instrumental band, Anoice worked as the album producer on 'maze sleeper'. This lead single 'miracle' is a masterpiece which symbolizes the bands new sound, featuring Films’ poetic and whispered reading-styled vocal melodies and members of Anoice, Yuki Murata's, minimal music-styled piano and Tadashi Yoshikawa's energetic drums.
Takahiro Kido who is also a member of Anoice, incorporated retro instruments, including an analog synthesizer and reed organ in a big way. Adding spatial effects to all the instruments, made it possible for Films' music to be an energetic sound whilst also embracing the ephemeral.
This is a Films's new masterpiece which they have delivered after three years of silence.
'maze sleeper' will be released on number-limited 15cm square-sized box version designed by MATSURICA, a project of the illustrator, Naoko Okada as with the previous album 'at the deep end' from Films. It includes two beautiful cards of prints from her illustrations with the album credits, a maze which expresses the album, and a copy of CD.
