A yūgen song guided by piano and shō.
This is the ninth single from Mizu Amane, a side project of Films, a dark fantasy music project produced by the instrumental band Anoice, featuring archaic Japanese languages that are no longer spoken today.
This is a beautiful yet ephemeral song, from the fading voices of the vocalists of Films, and the miraculous harmony of two very different instruments, each with its own history and form: a deep piano with unique intervals between its notes, performed by Yuki Murata, a member of Anoice, and the mysterious sound of the shō, one of Japan's traditional instruments, performed by Ayako Kanisasare.
On September 4th, which coincides with Bandcamp Friday, all releases from Mizu Amane and its main project, Films - including this single, 'tohkami' - will be available to download for free or on a Name Your Price basis.
